I’m a big fan of Buttercup BakeShop and made my way over to the location. I ordered the lemon slice. They have seating available if you want to enjoy your slice at the bakery. Next time, I will try the strawberry slice. I love that they give large portions as well!
I had a great experience with Buttercup BakeShop and would highly recommend them to others! We had Buttercup BakeShop make a custom cake for my friend’s 30th birthday. The initial design didn’t come out exactly the way we wanted, but they took the time to completely redo the design and managed to get it done in a few hours. The cake was reasonably priced — around $50 for a 9 inch large cake. The design was more complex and cost $85, so the total was $135. I really appreciated their patience and understanding, and their willingness to completely redo the design! They even refrigerated or froze the cake before pickup to ensure it was more stable. They also took the time to carefully package everything so that there wouldn’t be any damage to the cake during transport. Their cake was delicious and my friend loved it! Everyone was complimenting both the cake design and taste. Would 100% recommend Buttercup BakeShop to everyone and go back again!
I ordered a birthday cake and they exceeded my expectations. I placed the order over the phone and they were so patient, helpful and made amazing suggestions. During pick up the 2 ladies were so sweet and helpful and expressed the excitement they had when they were decorating the cake. Everyone else loved the cake! It tasted like a fresh homeade cake and it was said that it was almost too beautiful to cut. I ordered a lemon cake with cream cheese frosting and it was one of the best lemon cakes we've had. I also ordered additional treats which were also good. I highly recommend.
I LOVE everything about this place! The staff is so friendly and welcoming - they make you feel like you are part of the family! They know me, they know my favorites and they take the best care of customers! And, the chocolate cake is the BEST in the city! My family and I won't go anywhere else for our baked goods - you will not be disappointed!
My husband got me a cake for my birthday and it was so delicious. So fresh and reasonably priced. The chocolate frosting tasted like brownie batter and the vanilla cake was so light and airy. Highly recommend and will be back for more cake.

Oh good God! We were just visiting and I had to try some NY cheesecake. This place did not disappoint. It's a darling shop with beautiful treats and friendly service. But, I came for the cheesecake. My husband and I decided it was the best we'd ever had. I want more. Now.
I ordered 4 dozen mini cupcakes—2 dozen basic, 2 dozen assorted and a coconut layer cake for my niece’s bridal shower last weekend. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the delivery was right on time. If you’re thinking about ordering here, do it!
My spouse and I went to the Madison Avenue location and were surprised to find that they didn't have any of my favorite strawberry cupcakes available. The woman behind the counter suggested that we walk to the 2nd Avenue location, which was quite a walk but we decided it was worth it. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with outstanding customer service from Tarina. She even remembered me from a previous review! As a result, I received two complimentary cupcakes, which was such a wonderful surprise. As you can see, the strawberry cupcakes did not disappoint. They are packed with strawberries, yet remain light and perfectly balanced. The icing is delicious without being overly sweet or overpowering the cupcake itself. Every bite was fantastic. A big shout out to the owner and especially to Tarina for providing exceptional customer service and making our visit so memorable!
